Word Animation, Color

A 34 second animation that personifies the design principle, color, through dance and excitement. These were my first studies in Flash animation and extremely loved the outcome — creating an experience.

This was done back in the fall of 2008, I had no idea how big this song was going to get. The song is Sleepyhead by Passion Pit, which to this day, it has been at the #1, in commercials, movies and mainstream. I first heard their EP on a music blog with the nerd in me. But when I presented the color animation, the majority of my classmates were asking me who the band was and so forth. Neat!

The second animation was a short pre-cursor to the color animation one. This second was was focused on lines and the perception that they are only linear. Showcasing lines can easily become shapes when in perspective. The music in this one is Gil Mantera's Party Dream. The lyrics actually state "I've learned my lesson well" . . . and the song ends with people cheering while the final quote is shown. Emphasizing lines really can be awesome, interesting and not so linear.
